45-Townhome Development Under Review In Belmont

Plans call for replacing an office building near Ralston Avenue and setting aside land for a future public safety facility.

BELMONT, CA — A commercial property near Ralston Avenue could make way for 45 townhomes as Belmont officials review plans for a new housing development.

Sierra Investments wants to demolish the existing office building at 2 Davis Drive and construct seven residential buildings on the roughly 3.24-acre site, according to city planning documents.

Along with the townhomes, the developer would set aside approximately 0.37 acres for a future public safety facility. Each residential building would contain four to seven units.

The project would require changes to the property's zoning and land use designation, which currently allow commercial development.

Belmont's Planning Commission held a public meeting Oct. 20 to gather input on the environmental review process, according to the city's Oct. 23 newsletter.
