Several areas of Sea Cloud Park were severely damaged by graffiti on June 9 and June 15, according to city officials.
Prior to the most recent incidents, the park had also been vandalized with spray paint in April and also in Nov. 2014, city officials said.

The city believes the vandals in all the incidents are the same because the graffiti “tags” in all the incidents are the same.

The suspects are using a type of paint that is hard to remove and the repairs are costing the city thousands of dollars, Director of Parks and Recreation Kevin Miller said.

Over the last few months, the suspects have caused between $60,000 and $70,000 in damage, according to Miller.

“Every city deals with graffiti ... but the intent to just permanently damage structures out here is just disheartening,” Miller said. “Everybody in the community is disappointed.”

The department is actively working with the Foster City Police Department to find the culprits.

Anyone with information about the vandalism is asked to call Foster City police at (650) 286-3321.
