AT&T Repairs Leave Many Without Phone Service

AT&T customers near Ralston Avenue and Cipriani Boulevard have been without phone service since Saturday.

 

Some AT&T customers in central Belmont have been without home phone service since Saturday, and the utility is reporting that they can not expect service to return until Tuesday evening.

The affected areas are just off Ralston Avenue near Cipriani Boulevard. As late as Sunday at 10:00 p.m. work crews were still working in the area.

Customers are reporting that they have been unable to reach AT&T via the 611 number (as directed by the website) for any further information. 

There were similar phone service interruptions in the same area in August and September due to failed cables. At that time, AT&T repair crews were replacing cables which contained thousands of pairs of bundled wires. Both voice and DSL run over the cables.
