AT&T Repair Work Nearly Complete
Repair trucks have slowed traffic along Ralston Avenue for a week to fix failing cables.
It’s been a week of mysterious underground work near the corner of Ralston Avenue and Cipriani Boulevard.
AT&T trucks have set up shop on the northwest corner of the busy intersection and along Ralston Avenue, causing traffic delays to perform some type of underground repairs.
Calls to AT&T were not returned, and the city of Belmont was only told that crews were in the area doing some emergency repairs that would take about three days.

A worker at the site Friday told Belmont Patch that they were “almost done,” and that they have been working on failing underground phone cables. He said the failed cables caused loss of phone service earlier in the week, but he didn’t know how many homes had been affected.
The work crews were replacing three cables, each of which contains thousands of bundles of twisted pairs of wires -- 4,200 pairs in all. DSL and voice run over these wires.
