Belmont Police Searching for Possible Burglary, ID Theft Suspects

Police say that the men used credit cards stolen from a recent car burglary in town.

Belmont police asked for the public’s help Friday in tracking down men who they say were caught on camera using stolen credit cards.

According to Belmont Police Capt. Patrick Halleran, the cards were stolen on Jan. 17 in parking area of an apartment building in the 2200 block of Lake Road. They were then used to make hundreds of dollars in purchases.

“The suspects stole two wallets, containing several credit cards,” Halleran said in a news release. “That day, several of the stolen credit cards were used to purchase over $500 worth of items, in Bay Area businesses.”
