Canines

Let the canines flee with glee!

Note to self (and possibly others);

While @ a park or the like with kids, no matter how stinkin’ cute the puppies in the basket are and despite the pressure of cries and coos around you, be sure to get buy-in from spouse before showing up at home with (a)nother dog. Just because it worked once doesn’t necessarily mean twice is a charm. While I believe act first and apologize later works some of the time, in fact does not always. One catches on eventually.

Day one is almost complete and tomorrow is another battlefield. I forgot puppies are just fluffier newborn humans in need of constant care.

Regarding Barrett Park having a few hours a day for dog park time – I am all “for it!” (… and long before I got sucker punched into the darling pup I have yapping in a pack n’ play in my bedroom). Yes I am a dog-person, but I also believe dogs have play rights like our kids. In the city (where I used to gleefully reside), dogs seem to have a better rite of play and fears not so great as here in the ‘burbs. (And we have more space to boot!)

I have spent many hours at official (and unofficial) dog parks around the Peninsula and Barrett dog gatherings appear to be the sweetest of them all. Cipriani dog park seems to hold more problematic canines (and parents) than Barrett ever holds. I feel Barrett dog owners have an infectious kindness and hospitality, comparable to kids at a park. If a poop is dumped it seems anyone is apt to bag it. I love the dogs and their parents at Barrett and as long as poops are bagged and no soccer cleats arrive into cars smeared with stench, I say it’s good as gold. Thumbs up for Barrett dog-time!
