REI to Bring Volunteers to Waterdog Lake March 31
Volunteer Trailwork at Waterdog Lake with REI

We are very pleased to have REI partnering with the , local Belmont volunteers and to bring a large and energetic group out for more work at Waterdog Lake on Saturday March 31.
Please come join us for this community event! We have some great projects planned that allow everyone to participate and with some extra numbers we can get some heavy lifting done. That’s light lifting by lots of folks that add up to heavy lifting.

We have made some great progress on the trail this season and we are on track to finish the digging portion of the project by late spring or early summer. We still have four bridges to build when that is done and some other finish work but we are excited that the major stage of digging the full loop is nearly done.
Although the trail is officially posted as closed because of the ongoing construction work, we see people on it all the time when we are working there. Personally I'm happy to see people like the trail even though its not done yet. Many people just like to adventure so they don't seem to mind that in some spots there is barely a trail there yet.

REI will be providing morning refreshments and a souvenir T-shirts for all volunteers.
We will meet AT THE DAM AT 9:00. This is different from other days when we meet at the gate. Please arrive by 8:30 so you have time to walk to the dam and sign in while having a snack.
Due to the strenuous nature of the work and steep grade of some sections of trail, ages 16 years and older are welcome to participate. Ages 16 and 17 must be accompanied by a supervising adult. Each participant will be required to sign a Trailworkers liability release form before commencing any project activities.
We recommend that you dress in layers and wear long pants, long-sleeved shirt, sturdy closed-toe shoes, as well as a hat/visor for sun protection. Bring sunscreen, snacks, and water. You will be carrying tools and equipment so please bring a backpack you can carry your water. If you have work gloves, please bring those too.
Please contact Kevin Sullivan at KSullyman@gmail.com to register for this day so we can plan accurately for tools and T-Shirts!
Thank you!
