The Big Dig! THIS Saturday Dec 8. 9AM at the Dam

Waterdog Lake Loop Work

The Lake Loop Trail in the Waterdog Open Space is making great progress and the end of digging is very near.  We have been able to take advantage of some early rain as well as the latest downpoar to build about 300 feet of retaining wall under a beautiful grove of Oak Trees on a steep hillside.  The wall allows the trail to be 4ft wide and with a gentle slope to walk or ride. This is the last major section before we can say the "digging part" is complete. (there are a few more small dig areas and 3 bridges to build)

The good news is the work we need done on Saturday needs limited experience and will have NO Poison Oak on the project site.  If you have ever said you'd like to come help one of these days - This is the Day to Do It.  We will be digging an area of trail we have started in order to widen it and use the soil for filling behind the retaining wall.  We will have lots of shovels and wheelbarrows.  So if you can use a shovel or push a wheelbarrow you can help.

We will meet at the Dam at 9am this Saturday Dec 8.
