On Sunday, July 28th, Charles Stone for Belmont City Council 2013 hosted a campaign kickoff barbecue at Twin Pines Park.
Approximately 150 people (including School Board trustees Brian Matthews, Chuck Velschow, and Rob Tashjian along with several former Belmont council members and mayors) attended. Parents, community leaders, and concerned residents all enjoyed great food, great company, and stimulating conversation. The kids in attendance enjoyed the jumpy house and face-painter.
Charles spoke of the need for better economic development efforts, stronger ties between our city and education partners, and a revitalized transit corridor as Belmont enters a critical time in its history.
