CHS Academy Program Seeking Volunteers

The program targets at-risk students in their junior year of high school.

Want to make a difference in a teenagers life?  Had a mentor that impacted you?  Know someone else who could help?

The Academy program at Carlmont High School could use your help.  The academy program is a small school environment which targets at-risk students.  During their Junior year, students may request a Community Mentor that works with them on both academic & career goals. Students career interests are widespread from firefighting and event planning to gaming and medicine, there is a student that is interested in what you do!

The commitment is approximately 2 hours per month, with most interactions via email and 4 face-to-face meetings over the course of the school year.  The first meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, November 6th from 9-10am.  If you or a colleague have any questions, please contact Faith Velschow, our mentor coordinator,  via email at velschow@yahoo. com or via phone at 650-464-1162.
