The Belmont-Redwood Shores Crushers beat the Foster City Thunder 3-2 in the Peninsula League championship game on Saturday. Led by great pitching, fielding, and timely hitting, the Crushers were able to secure the win. The Thunder scored a run in the first inning. The Crushers came back in their half of the inning to tie the score. The game remained tied until the bottom of the sixth inning when the Crushers scored two runs to break the tie. The Thunder were able to add another run in their half of the seventh inning and with the tying run at third, the Crushers closed the door to bring home the championship trophy. “We are very proud of all these girls! They did a great job all season long!” Crushers coaching staff.
The Belmont Blasters had an amazing regular season going 12-0-1. They ended up bringing home the 2nd place trophy in post season play. It was a great season for all the Belmont Redwood Shores teams that played in the Peninsula League! A big thank you to all the coaches & volunteers who made this season a success. – www.BRSYSA.org
