
This November, Belmont voters will elect two city council members from a pool of five candidates, including incumbents David Braunstein and Christine Wozniak.
Also on the Nov. 8 ballot are City Clerk Terri Cook, who faces a challenge from Councilman Dave Warden, and Treasurer John Violet, who is running unopposed.
The deadline to file papers for the municipal elections was 5 p.m. today.

Michael McGinness, Paul Brownlee, planning commission chair Eric Reed, and council first-termers Braunstein and Wozniak will compete for two vacant council seats. This will be McGinness' second try: He ran in 2009.
Candidates are elected at large and the top two vote-getters will win seats.

Residents may register online or pick up a form at the city clerk's office. Residents whose names have changed or who have moved -- even within the city limits -- must re-register to vote. The deadline is Oct. 24 to vote in the November election.
