Firefighter Burn Relay Coming to Belmont Next Week
A parade of fire apparatus will be coming to Belmont.

A parade of fire apparatus will be coming to Belmont to receive a donation from Belmont Firefighters for the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation. The presentation will be on 6th Avenue next to City Hall.
Mid-morning, on Tuesday, October 28, 2014, a parade of fire apparatus from the around the Bay Area will be stopping in Belmont and other peninsula cities as part of the annual Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation - Burn Relay. Tuesday’s event will start at Moffett Field in Sunnyvale and work its way up the peninsula, stopping at fire departments along the way to collect donations raised by firefighters, ending in San Francisco.
The Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation (AARBF) is a California-based nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing burns and fires and providing services to those who have been affected by a burn injury. AARBF brings together health care providers, firefighters, emergency workers, burn care professionals, burn survivors and others to enhance the quality of life for burn survivors and prevent burn injuries.

One of the AARBF programs is the Champ Camp, a week-long, residential summer camp experience free to child burn survivors. The main focus of camp is for burn survivors to have fun and just be kids away from medical procedures and financial hardships.
