Gloria Dei Lutheran School welcomes Principal Richard De Frain
Gloria Dei Lutheran School in Belmont welcomes a new, experienced teacher and principal to its faculty.
As the beginning of a new school year is upon us, Gloria Dei in Belmont is excited and happy to welcome Mr. Richard De Frain to our faculty as both our principal and upper grades teacher. Mr. De Frain has served Lutheran schools in Wisconsin, Arizona, and now California. Drawing on nearly 30 years of experience as both a teacher and principal, Principal De Frain will be a true blessing to Gloria Dei’s academics, as well as to our school children and families.
Principal De Frain and his wife Carla moved to Belmont in May and has spent a busy summer settling in, assisting with another wonderful Summer Bible Camp program, preparing for classes, and helping make many improvement to Gloria Dei’s campus. Mrs. De Frain, an experienced teacher herself, is currently teaching piano lessons on Gloria Dei’s campus along with our Early Childhood Educator, Anne Marquardt.
While many things are changing at Gloria Dei, the fundamentals do not. Gloria Dei Lutheran Church operates its school as a blessing to our congregation member families as well as the families in our community by providing a top-quality education for our students, yet one that allows them to have Jesus’ unending love and forgiveness be the central point of every day. We purposefully restrict our class sizes so that children have the personal attention they deserve which allows them to thrive academically and spiritually while at Gloria Dei and beyond.

Gloria Dei is a Lutheran congregation at the top of the hill on Ralston Avenue in Belmont.
