Jerry Hill to Meet With Man Who Broke into Hill's Home
The burglary occurred nearly 11 years ago; on Friday, Hill will meet with the man who now works for a San Mateo substance abuse program.

Assemblyman Jerry Hill, D-San Mateo, has an unusual reunion ahead of him Friday: he's meeting with a man who tried to break into Hill's home nearly 11 years ago.
Mark Harvin, who's now an assistant manager for development at Project Ninety, Inc., a San Mateo substance abuse program that he credits for saving his life, was just 18 when Hill caught him burglarizing his house to feed his drug addiction.

Hill, who was a member of the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors at the time, heard a banging in his garage and walked in to find Harvin, high on crystal meth and alcohol.
After years of bouncing in and out of prison and drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs, Harvin has worked at Project Ninety since 2008 and been clean for nearly five years.
