Man Accused of Stealing From Woman Who Hired Him for Private Event
Belmont police have also arrested a woman in connection to the theft.

A man and woman were arrested [Friday] in connection with a theft the male committed while working at a private party in Belmont earlier in the month.
Today, Belmont Detectives arrested Robert Spiva age 31 and Paige Boswell age 22, both of East Palo Alto, on charges relating to a theft that occurred at a private party earlier in the month, in Belmont. Spiva had been hired to work at party and after the party, the resident discovered her wallet and checkbook had been stolen. Subsequent investigation lead to Spiva and Boswell, after the victim’s credit card was used at a gas station in Palo Alto.
Both suspects were arrested without incident at their residence and booked into the San Mateo County Jail in Redwood City. Spiva was charged with possession of stolen property, possession of narcotic paraphernalia and violation of probation. Boswell was charged with possession of stolen property, identity theft and violation of probation.

Detectives found other possible stolen items in the suspects’ residence and are working to confirm additional victims.
