Ever Wonder What Goes on Down That Sewer?
The City of Belmont will host an informational meeting tonight to explain the need for proposed sewer rate adjustments.
Prior to the Belmont City Council's on June 26, the city will host a Community Informational Meeting this week to provide details of the proposal.
The Community Informational Meeting will be held Wednesday, June 20, from 4:30-5:30 p.m. in the EOC Room-Second Floor, City Hall, One Twin Pines Lane.

According to city officials, the meeting will include information on the status of the city’s sewer system, the need for the proposed rate adjustments, how the funds will be spent, the proposed dollar impact to individual properties, estimating individual sewer bills, and the process for protesting the increase.

In addition, city staff have designed “stations” to illustrate sewer replacement/repair and sink hole repairs, a display of root clogged sewer pipe, smoke testing station diorama, infiltration and inflow video.
A map of the City’s sanitary sewer system color-coded by age of each line will be available so residents can find out what they will be charged for their parcel.
Residents are encouraged to come and receive information, and ask questions. Light refreshments will be served.
The would take effect in tax year 2012/13 and 2013/14.
