Motorcyclist Hospitalized in Belmont Crash; Driver Sought
Belmont Police are looking for another vehicle and its driver that led to the crash.

The following is a news release from the Belmont Police Department:
A motorcyclist remains hospitalized Tuesday after a collision on Ralston Avenue at the entrance to Notre Dame de Namur University Monday night.
On Monday, at approximately 11:30 p.m., a motorcyclist was westbound in the 1500 block of Ralston Avenue. According to the motorcyclist, he was approaching the entrance to the Notre Dame de Namur University, when another vehicle, possibly a light colored sedan similar to a Toyota Corolla, made a left turn onto Ralston Avenue in front of him. The motorcyclist attempted to stop but went down, ending up near a landscaped area on the west side of the university entrance. The other vehicle continued eastbound on Ralston Avenue.

The motorcyclist was able to call 911 on his cell phone and Belmont Police and Fire units responded, arriving within 2 minutes. The motorcyclist, a 29 year old male from East Palo Alto was treated at the scene by Belmont Fire Department paramedics and taken to an area hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
As part of our investigation, Belmont Police are looking for the other vehicle and its driver. The collision is not being considered a hit & run at this time, as it is possible that the other driver was unaware that the motorcycle went down after passing them.

Investigators would like to talk to anyone who may have seen the collision or either of the vehicles. The motorcyclist was wearing a black helmet and dark clothing and driving a red 2004 Honda CBR 1000 motorcycle. The other vehicle that was reportedly exiting the NDNU campus, is possibly a light colored sedan similar to a Toyota Corolla.
