New Mayor to Be Sworn-In Tuesday

Belmont City Council will have its annual reorganization Tuesday night; Dave Warden likely to be the next mayor.

 

After a bit of city business during its regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday at 7:30 p.m., the will hold a ceremony to administer the oath of office to its re-elected members, David Braunstein and Christine Wozniak. In addition, Terri Cook, the re-elected city clerk, and John Violet, the re-elected city treasurer will take the oath of office.

Following the swearing in, the council will have a reorganization, in which Coralin Feierbach will step down as mayor, and a vote will be taken to determine who will serve as the city's next mayor and vice-mayor.

Historically, the vice-mayor is voted in as mayor, meaning Dave Warden, the current vice-mayor, will most likely become the city's new leader. 

A reception will follow the ceremony. The public is invited to attend the ceremony and the reception, which will take place in the Belmont Council Chambers on the second floor of Belmont City Hall, One Twin Pines Lane.
