Belmont's bi-weekly street sweeping happens between 5 a.m. and 1 p.m. on weekdays. The night before sweeping occurs, residents are urged to move their cars from the street.

Residents are also asked to not blow yard debris into the gutters or roadways. The Public Works Department should be notified if a storm drain has debris.

Other ways residents can help include:

  • Do not sweep leaves into piles taller than one foot. The street sweeper cannot pick up large piles.
  • Place branches into the compost bin.
  • Trim trees and vegetation back behind the curb and remember the sweeper needs 11 feet of vertical clearance from the roadway to reach the curb.

Belmont's Public Works Maintenance Department sweeps between 300 and 500 curb miles per month.
