Panda Express Coming to Belmont

Belmont diners will soon have to trade in their paninis for potstickers.

Chinese restaurant chain Panda Express is taking over the site at Emmett Avenue and El Camino Real formerly occupied by A.G. Ferrari Foods, which filed for bankruptcy and closed up its shop earlier this year.

Of the 13 A.G. Ferrari stores, three remain open while the East Bay-based company reorganizes its finances.

According to Carlos de Melo, Belmont’s director of Community Development, Panda Express will take over the entire site, and will open as soon as tenant improvements are completed.

Panda Express has 1,321 restaurants in 38 states and Puerto Rico, including one in The Pentagon. It is headquartered in Rosemead, Calif.
