Places to Start Performing

Even the shyest of performers need to get up there and perform.  There are lots of opportunities for kids through kid shows through companies like San Carlos Children’s Theatre or camps like the Young Actors Theatre Camp, as well as school talent shows.  These are all great forays into performance.

Adults can audition for community theatre or large television shows, but it can be daunting to do that without any prior experience on stage.  Open mic nights can be a great way to get the stage jitters out before going into auditions or performing on a larger stage.
