SAN CARLOS, CA — A man walked into a San Carlos gas station convenience store and stole cash, lotto tickets and a pack of cigarettes before threatening the clerk and leaving, sheriff's officials reported Tuesday. Now, officials are hoping someone may have information or recognize the suspect pictured in this article to help them catch the man.

The robbery happened around 5:40 a.m. Tuesday at the Shell gas station in the 1000 block of El Camino Real, according to San Mateo County Sheriff's Det. Salvador Zuno. The man allegedly walked behind the counter himself and grabbed $250 along with the tickets and cigarettes.

"When confronted by the store clerk the suspect put his hand inside his waistband to simulate that he had a weapon and fled on foot eastbound towards El Camino Real," Zuno said in a press release.
