Registration Open for Little Hands
Belmont-based parent-run cooperative open to children under 3 and their parents.
It’s hard to fully comprehend the famous phrase “it takes a village to raise a child,” until you have a child of your own.
Nearly three years ago, a very special person entered my life and has filled my days with more joy and love than I ever thought possible.
My son Holden is who he is because of the many people he has had in his life and I am grateful for that.

Since he was a baby, I knew I wanted to send him to Little Hands, a parent-run cooperative in Belmont.
My sister attended Little Hands with my nieces and had great experiences, and I wanted that for Holden, too.

Little Hands is unique in offering programs for children as young as 6 months to 36 months.
Each participating parent is assigned a job to be completed during the school year and also attends the classes with their children so that they can observe their kids in a play-based learning environment.
Being involved in your child’s early learning is so important and already I can tell Holden is on a path to a successful educational journey.
The co-op is all about parent education, providing support for parents of young children. As a parent, you learn so much from the teachers, the other parents around you, and from monthly speakers on everything from health and nutrition to limit setting/discipline and building positive sibling relationships.
These classes are free to Little Hands parents and open to the community at a small charge.
But most importantly, I love it because Holden loves it ~ he adores his teacher, Lalaine, and both his little pals, and big pals (the parents) who he also refers to by name.
And as a first-time parent, my husband and I have met wonderful families and really good friends through this experience. We can bounce ideas off one another, get advice, or even get together socially outside of Little Hands.
Does this all sound good? If so, registration is now open for summer camp and 2013-14 classes! And don’t wait – Little Hands had waitlists for many classes this past school year.
