Sawyer Camp Trail Slated for One-Day Closure

The popular six-mile trail will be closed Thursday for water pipeline upgrades.

Construction crews will be working on a water pipeline adjacent to Sawyer Camp Trail on Thursday, which will require the entire six-mile trail to be closed for the day. The trail will reopen on Friday.

The advisory notice, sent through SMC Alert, is from the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission and the Hetch Hetchy Regional Water System.

The work is part of the Crystal Springs/San Andreas Transmission System Upgrade that continues through 2013. In order to keep the trail open as much as possible during the upgrade, work is routinely scheduled very early in the morning and after hours.
