SOFTBALL: Scots Streak into Second Round
Yzaguirre's four hits spark 8-0 win over Wilcox in CCS opener; Carlmont faces Santa Teresa next.

Taylor Yzaguirre had four hits to lead host Carlmont to an 8-0 victory over Wilcox on Wednesday in the opening round of the Central Coast Section Division I softball playoffs.
The fifth-seeded Scots will face No. 4 Santa Teresa on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Hawes Field in Redwood City.
Freshman Danielle Giuliacci got the win over Wilcox, working the first six innings. Junior Aurora Stottler finished off the combined shutout.

Senior Megan Hansen had two hits, including a triple, and two RBIs for Carlmont (21-6). Freshman Rebecca Faulkner had a double and two RBIs.
Santa Teresa defeated Palo Alto on Wednesday, 8-1. Scots coach Jim Liggett said he hasn't seen Santa Teresa (23-6) this season.
