Someone's Stopped Breathing....Do You Know What to Do?
The steps to administering CPR have changed over the years. When's the last time you took a refresher course?
Heart disease and stroke are the number one and three causes of death, and a leading cause of disability among Californians. You can make a difference in a life and death situation by learning to administer CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and how to use an AED (automated external defibrillator).
To get members of the community certified in latest procedures, the will offer Adult CPR/AED classes: Tues. Sept. 25 OR Tues. Nov. 6 (these classes are identical--one class needed for certification). The classes will teach how to administer CPR to an adult (defined as being 12 years or older) and how to use an AED. Choking assistance will also be covered in the class.
Participants will be certified through MEDIC First Aid, whose programs conform to national standards and are based on the treatment recommendations used by the American Heart Association and Red Cross.
