TENNIS: Carlmont's Pang Takes 2nd in PAL Singles
Scot sees romp through league tournament end in final, falls 6-3, 6-2 to Woodside's Newcomb.
Carlmont High’s Corey Pang fell just short of a singles title in the Peninsula Athletic League boys tennis championships on Friday afternoon.
Pang, who hadn’t surrendered more than two games in a set in three previous tournament matches, lost 6-3, 6-2 to Woodside’s Shep Newcomb in the final at Burlingame High.
In a doubles final pitting two Menlo-Atherton teams, Matt Giordano and Zeke Brown won 6-1, 6-4 over the Perkins twins, Jesse and Christian.
