Sheriff's officials say the trio were caught at the scene as they tried to drive away.

SAN CARLOS, CA — Three San Francisco men were arrested over the weekend after they stole more than than $1,000 worth of merchandise from a local CVS store, the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office said on Monday.

The trio are accused of hitting up the pharmacy on San Carlos Avenue in San Carlos around 5 p.m. Sunday. Officials say they got word of a "shoplifting in progress" so they headed out to the store.

"Deputies arrived on scene and located one suspect, Quetzal Nevarezrodriguez," sheriff's Det. Rosemerry Blankswade said in a news release. "The other two suspects, Jose Molina and Michael Carmona, were quickly located and apprehended while driving away from the scene."
