Analysis of LB City Employee Cell Phone and Vehicle Use Planned
Review approved last week by the Long Beach City Council aims to find ways to save money through auditing usage and expenses.

The City of Long Beach will be analyzing how much it spends on employee cell phone plans and vehicle usage.
The review's ambitions are to find ways to save money and make current policy more efficient, according to Council Member Gerrie Schipske and Council Member Pat O’Donnell, the co-sponsors of an agenda item approved unanimously by the City Council Tuesday.
Schipske said that she hopes for an audit of the cell phone plans, eventually.

“Many entities, corporations and others, are finding that they are often overcharged for fees and other things,” Schipske.
O’Donnell said that he wants to know how many vehicles there are in the city fleet, and how they are being used. He said he also wants the city to consider moving to a single phone service provider.
