Armed Man Barricaded in Long Beach Residence

UPDATE at 4:06 p.m.: A SWAT team was unable to locate an armed man who was believed to have barricaded himself inside a residence in the 500 block of West Anaheim Street in Long Beach, says Marlene Arrona of the Long Beach Police Department. The standoff began this morning with an assault with a deadly weapon call, Arrona says.

An armed man is believed to have barricaded himself in a residence in the 500 block of West Anaheim Street in Long Beach, said Marlene Arrona of the Long Beach Police Department.

A SWAT team is on scene and some nearby homes have been evacuated as a precaution.

The standoff began this morning with an assault with a deadly weapon call, Arrona says.
