Authorities were investigating the source of a possible explosion today that resulted in minor damage to an apartment building in San Pedro. Firefighters sent to the two-story building in the 500 block of West 14th Street about 11:15 a.m. found no fire nor anyone injured, said Matt Spence of the Los Angeles Fire Department. A hazardous-materials team was sent to investigate, and police were also working to determine what happened and whether any foul play was involved, said Los Angeles Police Officer Chris Lata.
