Showing the strong connections this ancient past has to our present day lives as well as developing an understanding that we all share more commonalities than differences!

ARTIST INFO:                                                                                            
Martin Espino is a local artist living in the Belmont Heights area. He is a highly respected scholar of the music and culture of Ancient Mexico. He visits schools, universities, lectures, performs conducts school residencies. He is always playing at the Long Beach Aquarium for Baja Splash Festival every September and at MOLAA usually for Cinco de Mayo and Dia de Los Muertos. His programs always engage, interact and delight!!!

SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES:
2-4pm “One” 2 hour Native Bamboo Flute Making Class @ 2-4pm - Limit 25 people; must be on time and stay for whole class. because their are many processes. We're making the "real" thing! Level: grade 3 to Adult; also Face Painting & Aztec head dress making for kids.

4-430pm Break with Music ambience

430-5pm Lecture: Summer Solstice, Indigenous knowledge and Dance and Music of Ancient Mexico.

5-7pm Ceremony & Performance by Martin Espino “Sounds of Ancient Mexico” with Aztec dancers.

7-8pm Q & A; Meet artists, take photos and hang out!
