It’s a LEGO lover’s dream to have his/her name on a LEGO kit.

With LEGO Ideas you can make your dreams come true. Your idea needs to get past the review team, but you can capture The LEGO Group’s attention with votes on LEGO Ideas.

Here’s how it works.

You need a great idea and a good build to start. Here’s a great model of an Imperial Probe Droid (Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back) that a friend shared with me, which brought my attention to the LEGO Ideas platform.

Register yourself on LEGO Ideas and put up a photo of the model and a great description.

Tell your friends about it, and encourage them to tell their friends. You have one year to get 10K votes. It’s a large number, but we’ve got... Social Media! As LEGO Ideas site puts it ”10,000 is a big number, but it’s doable if you have a great project and some old-fashioned persistence.“

After that, your amazing project must speak for itself. During the LEGO Review phase, a team of designers and marketing gurus from The LEGO Group will select projects to be made into kits.

During production preparation, you will work with set designers to create the final set for production. Voila! You are a set designer!

The benefits? Your credits in the set materials. Your name recognition as the creator. A royalty on sales of the product. Worldwide recognition.
