Pepsi Refresh Grant $50K Scout Sea Base Entry - Campaign Planning Help Needed!

Donate an iPad or cookies! Need people to help me take flyers around to local businesses, and to hand out after Sunday Mass! AND text* 109826 to Pepsi (73774) to vote from your mobile phone!

Well, I did the recon and yes, although the leaders in the $50K category are WAAAYYY ahead because of their "teaming up" strategy, I do think I have a chance.

On one of the Facebook pages and websites that I visited, I found the information that last month's winners got over 17K votes each.  ONLY 17K votes each... HEY! I have a chance! That's only 17K people voting once each day, 6K people voting all three ways (yes, there are three ways to vote), 3K people voting all three ways if they vote two days... I have a chance, don't I?

So... Let's go for it, Scouts, Long Beach, Random Strangers (yes, you are important enough to me to be capitalized) and People Who Read This Post.  I'm planning the re-launched campaign, but I need your help!

1/ Offer iPad.

I'm looking for a donor for an iPad that I can offer as a raffle item for folks who refer their friends to the voting site.  I'm going to do this somewhat manually, as I don't have time to get a site together.

2/Send Cookies to the High Schools.

I need donors for cookies so that I can send them to the high schools.  I'll start with Wilson, then go to Poly, if I can... Is there any business out there that uses cookies in their promotion?  I know there's a hotel that does... Mrs. Fields, I NEED YOU!

3/ Get the Dog to Ask.

I'm working on teaching Chowder to speak, but it's taking a bit longer than I'd planned.

4/ There are THREE WAYS to vote!

I'll be sure to tell everyone to vote all three ways.  Each single Committed Voter is worth three Random Strangers. (Sorry, Random Strangers, not intending to insult, but it's the truth, isn't it?)

5/ Contact TV.

Is there a TV station that would like to run a piece on this?  If no responses, I might have to skip this one.

6/ NEVER NEVER NEVER GIVE UP!

Yep, that says it all!

7/ Keep the fun in it (From the Community Learning Center page).

I'm having fun, are you?

8/ Team up with other groups to make the grant submission.

I can't do it this year, but Scott R., BSA Venture Crew 63, Troop 63 in Connecticut, Troop 149 in Indiana, Crew 870 in Florida, Evangeline Area Council in LA, Eagle Scout candidates(?) Richard R., Eric M. I'm looking for you! Call the Long Beach Area Council, give them the scout password, and ask for my info!  http://longbeachbsa.org/

9/ Team up with other groups for voting support.

Scout groups are pulling for this entry.  Long Beach, won't you vote too?  A note about the other Long Beach entries.  There is a $50K submission from the Long Beach Education Foundation that could use some support.  It's in competition with the Sea Base grant, but I can't promote the Sea Base over the middle school kids.  If you vote, please vote for both!

10/ Learn to Sing.

Twitter, I can't start now.  Maybe next year.  Instead, I'm trying to get my niece Paula and nephew Patrick to sing for me.  They've got good voices...

PLEASE.... HELP.... ME....
