Scout Makers to gather at Long Beach Scout-O-Rama

Scout O Rama is an annual, free, open to the public event. Scout units host activities and displays such as make-a-motor, make-a-marshmallow-shooter, robotics, ziplining, mazes and more!

The public is invited to the Boy Scouts of America Long Beach Area Council's annual celebration of scouting.

Heartwell Park will be abuzz on June 2nd, as the Long Beach Scout Area Council holds its annual Scout-O-Rama celebration.  Past activities have included ziplining, building marshmallow shooters, mazes, making of motors, and native American dances by the scout unit, Tribe of Tahquitz.

The theme this year, "Charting a Course to the Future," celebrates the 100th anniversary of sea scouting in America.  A Raingutter Regatta (model boat race) and a tiger shark lagoon are two of the fun new displays this year.

Each scout unit in the Long Beach area council is invited to host a booth with an activity.  Scouts in uniform will help to present the activities, which are often related to cub scout pins and belt loops and scout merit badge activities.

For those not familiar with scouting, youth in the program are encouraged to develop a large variety of interests.  Pins, belt loops and merit badges are visual reminders of their accomplishments and are proudly displayed on their uniforms.
