Episode 3: Teach Dog to Talk

For those readers just joining us, we have applied for a Pepsi Refresh grant to  help pay for several needy community projects, ours being a new kitchen at the sea base used by thousands of youths in the area for summer camps, life-saving training and other courses. For info on other local campaigns, read on.

So back to Chowder 'talking'....

And how!

Chowder the wolf puppy's on a roll, and his appeal to the community has helped to contribute to a rise in our position in the Pepsi Refresh voting contest.  We're now at 55, folks!  Last month it took just over 17K votes to win!  Let's see we have 9 days left.  That's about 2 thousand votes a day, less than 700 people voting 3 ways every day! We can do that, can't we?

Chowder's told me how excited he is to be making a difference, and has asked if he could get some of his friends together to make a video.  So... Maisie, Brody, Peanut, come on out for the Long Beach Pepsi Refresh candidates!

We'll meet at the grassy area near Livingston Park on the Friday after Thanksgiving, 11:00 AM!

Any pups who want to come are welcome, but be sure to bring some thumbs (on your parents, siblings) with you when you come as we'll need those thumbs for texting!  We'll all do some texts for Long Beach and some for Scout entries before we do the video!

Deliver Cookies to the Kids

Check.  This seems to be a highly successful approach to encouraging voters to vote. I only had enough money in my pocket for a few dozen cookies, so I visited a local troop and shared the message.  It was very opportune, because Troop 14 was voting in a new regime and a voting message was apropos for the evening.  The kids are ready to make a difference!

PLEASE VOTE THREE WAYS EVERY NOVEMBER DAY!

Note: For those of you who are not familiar with Scouting, there are several ranks for elementary school cubs in 1st through 5th grade, in order of their advancing age: Tiger, Wolf, Bear and Webelos.  Chowder has chosen to remain a Wolf cub as he feels it identifies with his roots.
