Bullet Strikes Bus to Queen Mary

A bullet struck a Long Beach Transit ``Passport'' bus traveling to the Queen Mary from downtown early this morning.

A "" bus traveling from downtown to the Queen Mary early today was struck by a bullet but no one was hurt, authorities said.

The missile struck the bus about 12:30 a.m., according to Long Beach police information officer Nancy Pratt.

In addition to the driver, three passengers were on the bus at the time, authorities said.

A tourist from Sacramento told a camera crew that he heard a loud sound and his girlfriend heard three shots as the bus went over the Queensway Bridge.

Queen's Highway was closed so that police could look for evidence, Pratt said.
