​A TWO-DAY MUSIC &amp; PEACE FESTIVAL! Join us Saturday, June 20 (Noon - 6 PM) &amp; Sunday, June 21 (Noon - 5 PM).
​Presented by 501(c)3 educational charity Go Vegan Radio, the California Vegan SOUL-stice is a historic cultural community gathering at the air-conditioned Sports Basement Flight Deck in Long Beach. Experience a powerful weekend celebrating life, culture, and positive vibrations with incredible food, sustainable living, and phenomenal live music.

<li>​Saturday (Reggae Day, Noon - 6 PM): Live performances by Lamour &amp; The Mystik Band, Empress Akua, Queen Theresa King, Ras Ken &amp; Da Fari Soldiers, and Mr. Suprize.</li>
<li>​Sunday (Jazz &amp; Father's Day Tribute, Noon - 5 PM): Honoring jazz legend Al Williams and his Quintet with special guest Valerie Monroe (vocalist with Ray Charles' Raelettes).</li>
</ul>
​Both days feature a dedicated 3:00 PM Peace Ceremony with a global moment of silence and a communal singing of "Give Peace a Chance."

In Los Angeles County, only 31% of cardiac arrest victims receive bystander CPR, compared to a national rate of 41%. To help improve low bystander CPR rates in Long Beach, <a href="https://www.memorialcare.org/locations/long-beach-medical-center" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center</a> is teaming up with the Long Beach Fire Department to host a free, interactive Sidewalk CPR event on Friday, June 5. Attendees will rotate through training stations staffed by nurses and LBFD personnel, learning how to recognize cardiac arrest and deliver effective chest compressions in just minutes.
