COA Homebase Gets Facelift with New Stained Glass

The COA facility at 3rd and Linden is a place to get a meal, some food for bare kitchens, clothes and supplies for the home.

Christian Outreach in Action (COA) brings helping hands and goods from churches all over Long Beach.  Church members volunteer to serve lunch, sort clothes and otherwise help those who are down on their luck.  Some are homeless.  Some have homes but little or insufficient food.  No one is turned away.

The COA facility at 3rd and Linden is itself a church, and is adorned with ornate stained glass windows.  I happened to be around when the front door windows, which had been boarded up for several years, got their new installation.

Huntington Beach stained glass artist Mary Ann Celinder researched the original windows, found the manufacturer and did the pattern matching and artwork.  I caught up with her as she was doing the installation so was able to capture some progress photos.

Mary Ann has created and installed large custom pieces in homes, organizations and businesses to the great satisfaction of many clients.
