County Offers $10,000 Reward for Long Beach Shooter
The Board of Supervisors today re-established a $10,000 reward for help finding a man who killed a convenience store clerk during a robbery.

The Board of Supervisors today re-established a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever fatally shot a Long Beach convenience store clerk during a 2014 robbery.
Supervisor Don Knabe recommended re-offering the reward, saying few witnesses had come forward and the clerk recently died, nearly 14 months after the shooting.
On March 24, 2014, a gunman entered the Cerritos Mini Market in the 1100 block of Seventh Street and shot then-53-year-old Felix Avelar-Duran. The robber fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Avelar-Duran was hospitalized with critical injuries and kept on life support until May 19, Long Beach police told a Knabe spokesman.
Robbery detectives, who released surveillance video of the robbery on YouTube last May, will now turn the case over to a homicide team.
