Homicide detectives Thursday investigated the death of a 13-month-old boy who was unresponsive when he was taken from his Long Beach home to a hospital. The cause of death will be determined by the Los Angeles County coroner's office, Long Beach police Lt. Paul LeBaron said. Rescuers were called to the home in the 600 block of East 11th Street around 8:20 p.m. Thursday, LeBaron said. The child was taken to a hospital but could not be revived, LeBaron said.
