DUI Checkpoint Nets 2 for Suspected Drunken Driving
Checkpoints have provided the most effective documented results of any of the DUI enforcement strategies, according to the NHTSA.

The Long Beach Police Department Traffic Section conducted a DUI/Drivers License Checkpoint on Saturday at Atlantic Avenue and South Street, between 7 p.m. and 3 a.m. with the following results:
- 272 vehicles screened
- 3 field sobriety tests performed
- 2 DUI-Alcohol suspects arrested
- 7 drivers cited/arrested for operating a vehicle unlicensed or while suspended/revoked
- 4 citations issued for unsafe driving
