Capture the Wind Festival

Demo gear, race SUPs, launch off the water in jumping contests, and race kites at the Capture the Wind Festival.

Alfredo's will be offering Hawaiian barbecue and hosting a beer garden.

Friday:

10 a.m. - Kite companies set up

11 a.m. - Single string kites for younger kiters

Noon - Lunch Break!

1 p.m. - SUP demos, and trainer kites for older kids 

2 p.m. - Kite demos begin

TBD- Long Beach Airport/LBFD helicopter demonstration

Saturday:

10 a.m. - Kite companies set up

10:30 a.m. - First SUP Heat

Noon - Final SUP Race

12:30 p.m. - SUP Podium

1 p.m. - Beach games begin and run every 15 minutes until wind comes up

1:30 p.m. Skippers meeting with course racers and jumpers

2 p.m. - Course racing begins

3 p.m. - Jumping contest begins

7 p.m. - After party at Legions on second street

Sunday

10 a.m. - Kite Companies set up

1 p.m. - Beach games begin and run every 15 minutes until wind comes up

2 p.m. - Course racing and jumping contests continue (if not completed prior)

5 p.m. - Grand Prize raffle drawing

6 p.m.- wrap it up and grab a cold one!

*Demos of course start when the wind comes up on all days!
