Music will be flowing through the Aquarium of the Pacific at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 7, when the Long Beach Symphony Orchestra presents Sounds & Spaces.
In the same way that the architecture of the Aquarium of the Pacific evokes the undulating rhythm of ocean swells, George Crumb’s “Voice of the Whale” for Flute, Cello and Piano was inspired by the songs of the humpback whale.
The LBSO Chamber Players will take listeners on an oceanic voyage with a vivid collection of images: the screech of the seagull, the splash of primeval ocean waves and the cantabile whisper of the mighty whale itself.
