Councilwoman Gerrie Schipske is teaming up with the Long Beach Fire Department and the Long Beach Firefighters Association Local 372 to kick off the 39th Annual National Emergency Medical Services Week by hosting a tour of 5th Council District Fire Stations No. 5, 18, 19 on Saturday, May 19th from 1 pm until 5 pm.
National EMS week commemorates the critical work of the Nation's medical service personnel, and helps inform the public of their work during an emergency.
"This year’s theme is ‘EMS: More Than A Job. A Calling’ and I believe that when residents visit our fire stations and talk with our firefighters they will agree that these men and women have a true calling to help and care for others in their hour of need,” says Councilwoman Schipske.
The tour - which can be done by walking, bicycling or riding to each of the fire stations -
