Beginning at 5 p.m., downtown’s waterfront amphitheater will come alive with a flurry of activities and roaming performers, including magicians, face painters and balloon artists. Local live bands Them Novus and CPO & The SAPS will serve up family-friendly music and a trackless train will offer free rides along the esplanade between the Aquarium of the Pacific and Shoreline Village. At 9 p.m., the sky will come alive for an East Coast countdown with a ten-minute fireworks spectacular from Rainbow Harbor’s lighthouse peninsula.
