The Port of Long Beach has begun preparing an environmental impact report on a proposal to build a grain export facility at Pier T on Terminal Island. An initial public meeting, known as a “scoping” meeting, will be held August 24, at 6 p.m. at Long Beach City Hall to seek input on issues that should be addressed in the environmental report.
The Port’s “notice of preparation/initial study” on the project is available at www.polb.com/ceqa. Comments on the notice of preparation will be accepted until September 6, 2011.
To send written comments, mail them to Richard D. Cameron, Director of Environmental Planning, Port of Long Beach, 925 Harbor Plaza, Long Beach, CA 90802.
