Come to Stanford Middle School on Thursday, May 19th, for a screening of the highly acclaimed documentary,"Race To Nowhere". A panel of education experts will conduct a question and answer period directly following the film.
A concerned mother turned filmmakeer aims her camera at the high stakes, high-pressure culture that has invaded our schools and our children's lives. This remarkable new film shines a light on the price young people pay for this "race to nowhere". High-stakes testing has replaced meaningful teaching and learning. Cheating is commonplace. Stress-related illness, depression, and burnout are rampant. Many young people arrive at college and the workplace unprepared and unispired.
Attend the screening and become part of the grassroots phenomenon that is feeding a groundswell for change.
