Red High Heels Walk

February is American Heart Month, and this "Red High Heels Walk" will raise money to help fund heart health programs in Long Beach. The 2012 Red High Heels Walk will take place on Sat., Feb. 18, noon. Start/finish at La Strada restaurant on 2nd St. Justin Rudd’s nonprofit Community Action Team (C.A.T.) will donate $10 to local heart health programs (up to $5,000) for each person who walks the 1-mile roundtrip route down the 2nd Street sidewalks in Belmont Shore in red high heels, and $5 if a participant is wearing red non-heels (flats, loafers, athletic shoes, sandals, etc.). There is no charge to participate, and no fundraising is required. Feel free to use red spraypaint or red tape on a pair of shoes. Men, women and youth welcome. A lunch buffet for participants is available at La Strada, 4716 E. 2nd St., for just $6 following the Walk. RSVP to Justin@JustinRudd.com.
